This year massive flood hit Thailand now Kajang in Malaysia. Today’s rain is not as bad as other days yet it submerged Kajang city. Heavy rain started at 3pm this afternoon had caused a nearby river to break its bank that’s why Kajang was flooded.

Since 3pm, water was seen gushing into shopping malls like Plaza Metro, retail shops along the way like restaurants, restaurant as well as into McDonalds.

Some were stranded and had to climb up to vehicles to prevent from drowning. Others were seen pulling and helping stranded victims into higher levels building.

“The water was rushing by and we could only watch cars drift by. This is the worst flood here since the 1971,” Kajang assemblyman Lee Kim Sin said referring to the floods that killed 32 in the Klang Valley 40 years ago.

Apart from this, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) had to halt their service due to the flood.

Kajang residents have been sharing photos and videos on popular social sharing sites such as Facebook and Twitter, informing others not to travel into Kajang because of this incident.

In this video posted on Facebook, showed a woman standing on top of a van and was handed a ladder onto the roof of the van in order to climb to 1st floor of the building.

And another video showed workers in a shopping centre passing goods to others standing on escalator to save their goods.

PUTRAJAYA: Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein today declared that the ‘Bersih’ T-shirt is illegal because it is associated with an illegal rally.

“The T-shirt is related to an illegal assembly, then whatever they (the demonstrators) are wearing is illegal,” he said.

Hishammuddin was responding to a question on the arrest of people with the Bersih T-shirts, at a joint press conference with Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Atiqur Rehman on Malaysia-Bangladesh cooperation in addressing human trafficking, at the ministry here.

Asked whether the arrest of people over the July 9 illegal rally was politically motivated, he said: “On their part or on our part? I can ask the same thing to them.”

He also said that action would be taken against Umno Youth members who had encircled the PKR headquarters on Monday as they had gathered there without any police permit.

“I told them (the police) to treat Umno Youth the same. Nobody is above the law,” he said.

All the above aren’t exactly true how Slow Food are defined. Slow food is an international movement founded by Carlo Petrini back in 1989. His mission is to preserve the traditional and regional cuisines and promotes farming of local vegetables and fruits.

While fast food gives us the impression of fast paced modern lifestyles, slow food actually slow down the entire process of eating slow, chewing your food properly, eating local food and most importantly is agricultural sustainability to address many environmental and social concerns, also the entire food system.

Most fast food are quickly prepared food with low quality ingredients served with disposable packaging at franchised outlets. It’s low in nutritional value and usually consumer will just eat “on the run”. Usually contain high level of saturated fats, salt, sugar, transfat, msg, food additives which is bad for our health.

Health Benefits of Slow food

Slow food is way better than fast food in terms of it’s farming and cooking methods, slowly prepared and cooked foods with high nutritional value.Meats, Vegetables and fruits are delivered fresh from local producers, often organic, free from chemicals, pesticides and antibiotics. Thus maintaining the freshness and natural flavour of it’s food served.

Its whole idea of slow pace eating and chewing promotes better digestive versus fast food. Problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes can be improved from slow food.

By eating slowly, our weight will reduce tremendously. If we eat and chew slowly, spend more time on the table, most often we will feel full with less food.
