Sleeping boxes are made popular in Japan Shinjuku capsule hotel and are finally coming to Hong Kong.

Hong Kong capsule hotel are equipped with Wi-Fi. Eric Wong, it’s managing director of Galaxy Stars Ltd., is bringing the trend of sleeping box to the city to offer much cheap, basic accommodation.

Each of these capsule measures about 90 by 180 centimeters, made comfortable for a small adult, and they can also be customized to fit into any size.

As for now, Wong added that it’s now only has showroom for the capsules hotel and it’s not ready for use currently. He hopes to partner with hoteliers in the future to open a capsule hotel in Hong Kong.

“Since the Facebook page has gone up, I’ve already been contacted by tourists interested in a place to stay on vacation,” said Wong.

“The actual hotel is ideal for the Yau Ma Tei, Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok area since that’s where most tourists look for a hotel.”

Like Japan, Hong Kong is short on space and during peak holiday seasons hotels are often at full occupancy.

This past December, mainland tourists were tricked into staying at love hotels by desperate tour operators.
Capsule dorms

Wong’s goal to introduce its capsule hotel to the mainland people in China, and he’s also targeting a niche consumers mainly the students.

But in Hong Kong, Wong is also targeting another niche consumer — the student.

If a group of 15-20 university students is willing to rent a capsule dormitory together, Wong will find property near their university and fit it out with his capsules.

Rent for a capsule dormitory would run to about HK$3,500 a month per capsule space.

“We will be strict about the hours of water and electricity supply in order to be efficient about management,” said Wong. “So students must accept this condition.”

Anyone who claims that bike-sharing is a European-style transportation innovation has clearly never set foot in Hangzhou, China. The 50,000-bike system in this southern China city of almost 7 million people (about 1.5 million people fewer than New York City) blows all other bike-shares off the map. As Bradley Schroeder of the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy said, “I don’t think there is anywhere you can stand in Hangzhou for more than a minute or two where you wouldn’t have a Hangzhou Public Bike go past you.”

Hangzhou’s 2,050 bike-share stations are spaced less than a thousand feet from each other in the city center, and on an average day riders make 240,000 trips using the system. Its popularity and success have set a new standard for bike-sharing in Asia. And the city is far from finished. The Hangzhou Bicycle Company plans to expand the bike-share system to 175,000 bikes by 2020!

Po Ling Temple to be exact or some people refer to as Guan Yin Temple/ Kuan Yin Temple is situated within walking distance from KLCC Petronas Twins Tower. You can take the LRT and stops at KLCC station. Don’t worry, it’s not that far.

I’m not 100% vegetarian and i’m not a meat lover too. But most of the time, i’ll try not to consume meat too much. I’ll try to hunt down vegetarian food whenever i eat outside. Po Ling temple is a great place for vegetarian, it’s cheaper and it’s delicious. Most of all, they serves the most delicious vegetarian mix rice with the option of white rice or fried rice, Hakka Lui char, noodles and different variety of vegetarian food on different days.

I have no idea why i adore their Vegetarian Char siew so much, it taste soooooo delicious. Look like a char siew but it isn’t pork!..

It’s cheaper eating in Po Ling temple compare to other food stall around Kuala Lumpur. No wonder, we saw quite a number of “Ang Moh” there. By the way, always remember to take the right portion and don’t waste your food. After eating, we need to place our plates into a basin easier for workers to wash.

According to their timetable the opening hours starts from 11 am, they haven’t actually finish preparing their food yet. Therefore, it’s best to arrive around 11.40 am.

Deepavali is just two days away and Hindus are preparing to celebrate this auspicious day getting all the delicacies food, new clothes, ready before the big day. As a 1Malaysian, i wouldn’t miss celebrating this year Deepavali, although i am a Chinese. In Malaysia, places we can buy all those murukku and laddu is at Jalan Masjid India and Little India Brickfields.

To go to Jalan Masjid India, all you need is hop into a LRT train and stop at Masjid Jamek, walk to Leboh Ampang and you will see several stalls selling murrukku and laddu. I just bought 1 pack of Murrukku.

And to go to Little India in Brickfieds, you can either take the monorail to kl sentral or LRT train, there you can walk to Little India Brickfields. You will notice lots of lamps, beautiful arches along the street.

You can even try Indian’s Banana Leaf rice at Restaurant Sri Kortumalai Pillayar at brickfieds, just along Little India. After you finish eating your banana leaf rice, remember to fold the leaf in half to show you have finish your meal and it’s consider polite this way. Oh, order a glass of teh tarik too, super delicious!

Temporary closure of Aero Train Shuttle Service at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to allow upgrading of its facilities for 5 months period.

The shut down will begin on 01st November 2010 to 15th March 2011. It will be replaced by 24-hour shuttle buses that will be ferrying passengers to and from the Main Building and Satellite buildings.

Arriving passengers should proceed to the shuttle bus lounge at Gate C5 for transfer to the main hall for immigration, baggage collection and customs clearance.

For customers departing from KLIA, they should head for the shuttle bus lounge, located directly below the aerotrain station at the main terminal. The drop off point at the Satellite building will be Gate C11.

During this period, MAHB will be using a fleet of 16 buses to shuttle passengers between the Main Terminal Building (MTB) to the Satellite Building.

As such, to avoid inconvenience to passengers, with immediate effect, at Point of Reservations and Ticketing, the travel agent staff need to inform the passengers who are travelling on MH flights from 01 Nov 2010 onwards that they must be early at the Airport for check-in in order not to miss their flights.

Upon completion of the upgrading, Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB) operations services chief Datuk Azmi Murad said there will be two trains running at all times. One train will be on standby.

According to Datuk Azmi Murad, he expects the aerotrain to resume service from March 16 next year, but admitted the service will only be running non-stop after September 2011, when its order of a new three-car train set arrive
